Whilst each member brings particular expertise to the board, all of our trustees work as a team to ensure that we make the most of all available resources to give the best chance to children with leukaemia.
The Board of Trustees acts as the governing body of the charity. The trustees do not receive any remuneration or expenses.
The members of the Board of Trustees are:

Eddie O’Gorman founded the charity with his wife Marion in 1988 in memory of their two children, Paul and Jean, who tragically died of cancer. They have devoted the last two decades to making CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA Britain’s leading charity dedicated exclusively to the conquest of childhood leukaemia.
Eddie was made an Honorary Fellow of University College London in recognition the charity’s contribution to cancer sciences in the UK.
Eddie is a self-made business man. His business sense and Marion’s straight-forward, down-to-earth approach has proved a winning combination.

Lord Cadogan, has served as a trustee of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA from the beginning.
He has broad experience of charity governance as a trustee of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA and as Chairman of the Leukaemia Research Fund. This has been instrumental in helping to co-ordinate the research efforts of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA and the LFR to ensure that resources are used to the best effect.

Denis Henshaw is a physicist and Professor of the Human Radiation Effects Team at the University of Bristol. He is one of our programme grant-holders, and chaired our 2004 International Conference on Prevention and Causes of Childhood Leukaemia as well as the 2005 peer-reviewed project grants round.
A long-serving member of our scientific advisory panel (the predecessor to our scientific advisory committee), Denis’s input has been crucial in ensuring the highest standards of scientific research are achieved. He joined the Board as a trustee in 2005.

Daughter of Eddie and Marion, Sandra has been the charity’s most dedicated supporter.
She brings specialist knowledge of operational matters and has done just about every job for the charity over the years from stuffing envelopes to public speaking.
As a family charity, we were delighted to welcome her to our Board of Trustees in 2005, the year her father turned 70.
Best known for her roles in Birds of a Feather and Shine on Harvey Moon, Linda is a committed supporter of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA and a long-time personal friend of the O’Gorman family.
Linda has represented the charity at many of our fundraising events and has spearheaded three successful appeals – two with her co-star Birds of a Feather Pauline Quirke - helping us to raise over £4 million for our work.
Linda joined our Board of Trustees in 2005.
