Poster prize
Award amount: £15,000
Date of Award: September 2004
At our 2004 conference Childhood leukaemia: incidence, causal mechanisms and prevention we awarded prizes for the best posters by young researchers (under the age of 30 years).
We awarded six prizes of £15,000 each, with the money to be used to further the individual’s research into childhood leukaemia.
Michelle’s poster “Functional analysis of TEL-AML1 fusion protein in haemopoietic progenitor cells in vivo and in vitro” was one of those selected by the panel.
Michelle’s prize money enabled her, and other members of the research team, to attend meetings to present their work, including the FASEB ‘Hematological Malignancies’ conference in Vermont and the ‘Runx 2005’ meeting in Edinburgh.
