Our first task as a new charity back in 1988 was to raise £2 million to establish a new leukaemia research centre at London’s Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The Paul O’Gorman Childhood Leukaemia Research Centre at Great Ormond Street opened in 1995 and now houses one of the UK’s leading leukaemia research teams.
Since then, we have helped to develop many other childhood leukaemia research centres around the UK – including centres in Bristol, Glasgow, Manchester and Newcastle.
In appreciation of the support we have given over the past 22 years, the Great Ormond Street Hospital Building has been renamed the Paul O’Gorman Building.
