Want to do something a bit different? We welcome any opportunity for you to get involved in supporting our work.

Whatever your interest, we want you to have fun and enjoy fundraising for us.

Because our work is funded entirely by donations from the public, we are always open to fresh ideas in fundraising.

We invite you to plan your own fundraising event to suit your individual or community’s interests.

When planning an event, here are a few things to consider

• Location
Research your venue well and make sure it has all the facilities you need.

• Date and time
Choosing an appropriate date and time to hold your event is crucial.

• Cost
Put together a realistic budget of possible costs.

• Fundraising
You may decide to raise money either through ticket sales, auctions, raffles or collection. Think of creative ways to make fundraising initiatives fun for your guests.

• Guest List and Invitations
Consider who you would like to attend your event.

• Publicity
Spread the word through posters, flyers, print ads and radio
announcements.

• Volunteers
Recruit volunteers to help with the preparations and on the day of the event.

• Keep it legal
Your event may require permission from the police, your local council or even the charity. Don’t hesitate to give us and your local authorities a quick ring!

• Insurance
You may require public liability insurance.

• Health and Safety
Check with us to consider all Health and Safety issues if you are organising a large event.

• Raffles
You can hold raffles but please check as there are certain restrictions with each type of raffle.
