College Staff Run for Charity

Staff took part in the Great North Run half marathon and raised over £10,000 for CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA.

46 staff from the Park Lane Further Education College, Leeds and Keighley, ran to raise money for CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA.

They raised £10,549 - this included collections by staff and business partner donations. They were taking part in the Great North Run and ran 13.1 miles (a half marathon) on 30th September 2007.

Deputy Principal, David Fell, visited our offices at Great Ormond Street to hand over the cheque. He was thrilled to learn about latest advances in technology and that the money raised would directly feed into the fight against leukaemia.

He said "I have undertaken the Great North Run for the last three years and each time, near the finishing line, I've seen the CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA cheering bus with lots of children cheering the runners. I was quite moved and decided to make this the College charity to fundraise for and support."
