Can it really be 20 years ago since The Stone Roses were Manchester’s best-kept secret?
Ian Brown, their former lead singer, has raised £375 by auctioning promo CDs of his recent solo album.
Mick Knaggs runs Ian's website & forum and told us "Ian's record label, Universal Records/Fiction Records, sent some promotional CDs to give away. I thought it would be a nice gesture to 'auction' these CDs (with Ian's blessing) and donate the proceeds to CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA."
Mick explained, "We chose this charity because many members of our forum have been affected by cancer and felt CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA was a most worthy cause. We wanted to raise awareness of childhood leukaemia as much as contribute to the funding of your ongoing research."
