Catherine Murdoch had her head shaved while ASDA customers looked on – all in support of CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA.
Catherine has a close friend who survived leukaemia as a child.
She realises how lucky she is to have him as a friend and how unthinkable it is to lose a loved one.
Catherine discussed her idea with her Manager and colleagues at her local ASDA store in Aberdeenshire where she worked. They arranged a date, in February 2008, to do the deed.
I was very excited about doing it, but the scariest thing about the head shave was that it was in front of a lot of customers at the kiosk in the store.
Everyone was very encouraging and generous with sponsorship – including the passing customers!
Margaret, the lady who agreed to cut Catherine’s hair, was a touch nervous about how Catherine might feel after her long hair was all gone.
But Catherine loves her new hair and raised £670.60 for CHILDREN with LEUKAEMIA!
Back to Fundraising storiesI would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone who supported me and sponsored me. I love my new hair!
