Sir Steve Redgrave headed our Spring 2006 appeal to raise funds with his record-breaking attempt to become the champion individual fundraiser in the Flora London Marathon 2006.

As well as completing the gruelling 26.2 mile course, the Olympic gold medallist successfully beat the world record for the highest amount raised by an individual fundraiser at a marathon event, collecting over an incredible £1.8 million!
Sir Steve may have broken the world record, but his fundraising has not stopped there.
